Welcome to the World Congress of Dermatology 2023 in Singapore.
This congress is the most important venue for exchange of information for dermatologists since its inauguration 1889 in Paris. This first World Congress of Dermatology was organized during the World Exhibition and the opening of the Eiffel tower. Over the past 130 years, our clinical and scientific understanding, research in dermatology and environmental and political systems have dramatically changed worldwide.
It is the goal of the World Congress of Dermatology 2023 to address the most up-to-date clinical, scientific, social, and cultural aspects of dermatology. Thus, we will provide an outstanding clinical and scientific programme –
1) By establishing the programme jointly with the most renowned dermatologists and recruiting the best clinicians and scientists from all over the world as speakers.
2) By discussing the most relevant clinical and scientific topics, not only in high-income countries but also in low- and middle-income countries. We will plan for the best clinical presentations, relevant scientific insights, and most recent and even future therapeutic concepts. We will address the problem of value-based therapeutic options and develop therapeutic strategies for clinicians worldwide.
3) By focusing on those diseases that are of high prevalence in low- and middle-income countries of the world including neglected tropical diseases.
4) By addressing the impact of climate change and other environmental problems, human migrations, pandemics, and the application of artificial intelligence on dermatology.
On behalf of the Scientific Programme Committee, we would like to acknowledge the valuable input and suggestions that we have received from member societies. The 25th World Congress of Dermatology will be a scientific, clinical and social highlight that will promote the health of our patients worldwide.
We wish all participants a wonderful congress and thank our fabulous colleagues from Singapore who are putting a tremendous effort to create an unforgettable meeting in 2023.
