As we get closer to the WCD 2023, we are excited to share some updates from the International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS). We have some exciting sessions planned for you, as well as important updates on the Assembly of Delegates, and the chance to join the new ILDS Global Partnerships for Education and Care (GPEC) Programme.
Meet the new ILDS President-Elect
We are delighted to announce that Prof. Henry W. Lim has been elected as the new ILDS President. The ILDS Board Meeting held in London in February saw the election of Prof. Lim, and we are thrilled to have him as our President-Elect. He will be formally presented at the closing ceremony of the WCD 2023 on Saturday 8th July, where the next host of the 2027 WCD will also be announced. You can read more about this announcement and get to know our President-Elect through a recent interview available on our website.
ILDS session at WCD 2023
We have an exciting session planned for you during the Scientific Programme at WCD 2023 in Singapore. We will focus on the work of the ILDS and the many projects we are undertaking with our partners. All WCD registered delegates are invited to attend “Promoting Skin Health for the World: Insight into the ILDS” which will be held on Tuesday 4th July from 14:30-15:50 in level 3, room 308+309.
During the session, ILDS Board Members and Special Advisors will presentation the activities of the ILDS, including its work with the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Foundation for Dermatology, and patient organisations. The session will also cover ILDS events, including the 3rd ILDS World Skin Summit 2022. Our presentations will also include:
- What, How & Who of the ILDS
- Humanitarian work and Neglected Tropical Diseases
- Grand Challenges in Global Skin Health – Lesson learned from the Global Psoriasis Atlas
- ICD-11: Why the 11th Revision of the International Classification of Diseases is good news for dermatologists
- The World Skin Summit – Addressing Global Challenges to our Specialty

Registering delegates for the Assembly of Delegates – Ordinary Meeting (open to registered representatives of the ILDS Members only)
All ILDS Member Societies and Affiliated Member Societies have been contacted and sent a unique link to register their delegates for the Assembly of Delegates (AoD). The deadline to register your delegates is 30 April 2023. Please note that delegates can assign a proxy (another delegate to vote on their behalf) if they are unable to attend the AoD. However, only Registered Delegates can assign a proxy. Therefore, it is still wise to register your delegates officially before 30 April 2023, even if you are unsure if they will be able to attend.
The Ordinary Meeting of the ILDS Assembly of Delegates is a significant event for the ILDS. At the meeting, ILDS Member Representatives (referred to as ‘Delegates’) will receive reports from the ILDS President, Secretary General and Treasurer, and will vote for the next host city for the WCD2027. Guadalajara and Munich have been proposed and presentations will be made by the two bidding committee representatives for consideration. More information on both bidding cities can be found on the ILDS website WCD 2027 bidders’ page. The delegates will also vote for the nominees for the ILDS Board of Directors and discuss and vote on the proposed new Articles of Association put forward by the ILDS board.
The meeting will have two sessions, one on Wednesday 5th July from 15.00 to 17.30 and the other on Thursday 6th July from 16.00 to 17.30. If you have any questions or want to reach out for further information, contact our Membership team at membership@ilds.org. Please note: this meeting is only open to registered delegates of ILDS Member Societies.
